La Maison Nazareth is proud to announce the appointment of Pierre Richard Francois as its new Executive Director.
Trained as a physician in Cuba, Mr. Francois recently completed a Master’s in Health Services Management at the Université de Moncton, graduating with academic distinction.
Originally from Haiti, Mr. Francois and his family chose Canada as a place of refuge in response to growing social unrest in their home country. “Canada has a long-standing tradition of humanitarian collaboration with Haiti,” he says. “I’ve always been impressed by the compassion and solidarity that define Canada’s approach to helping others.”
With extensive international experience in healthcare, including in Burkina Faso and Belgium, Mr. Francois brings both a global perspective and a deep commitment to addressing the social determinants of health, particularly homelessness. This led him naturally to La Maison Nazareth – an essential shelter in Moncton for people experiencing homelessness..
Mission of Maison Nazareth Inc.

He also calls on volunteers to get involved, stating that every effort counts in the fight against homelessness. “Each year, we help hundreds of people regain their dignity, rebuild their health, and find stability—whether through housing, reconnecting with family, or receiving the physical and mental healthcare they need.”
Mr. Francois is committed to putting his expertise to work with the society’s most vulnerable and intends to collaborate closely with other shelters, community organizations, and all levels of government. He also plans to analyze the deeper root causes of homelessness to help improve and adapt the services provided by the Maison Nazareth Inc.
